PACKING INFORMATION

How much can I pack?

Please limit your bags to one full size bag and a personal item. We are sharing transportation andw ill be moving around a lot. You do not want to lug too many items, or take space away from others in the van.

What should I pack?

  • Comfortable clothing and shoes: You'll be doing a lot of walking and exploring, so make sure you have comfortable clothes and shoes to match. You’ve been warned 🙂

  • Swimsuits and sunscreen: Lots of beaches and pools so you’ll want to have plenty

  • Light jacket or sweater: the evenings can be cool, so it's a good to have

  • Insect repellent: Mosquitoes can be a problem in Bali, be prepared

  • Adapter: Bali uses electrical outlets that are different from the United States, so you'll need to pack an adapter.

  • Some “nice clothes” for clubs and bars (there are plenty of them) and some lunches/evenings we have planned

SAFETY INFORMATION

How’s the island?

Bali is a Hindu majority island, and it's important to respect the local culture and customs. Dress modestly when visiting temples, and avoid public displays of affection.

How’s the weather?

Be prepared for the heat and humidity. Bali is a tropical island, so it's important to stay hydrated and wear sunscreen.

Can I drink the water?

Nope! Please consume only bottled water while in Bali. Best to use bottled water when also brushing your teeth. “Bali Belly” is a thing, so be careful to not consume any street foods or foods not prepared in a proper establishment. You don’t want to get stuck inside with a stomach ache!

MONEY

What money will we use? The currency in Bali is the IDR - Indonesian Rupiah.

$1 USD = 15,624 IDR

AKA: you will have a lot of money there.

In Singapore, the local currency is the the SGD.

$1 USD = $1.37 SGD.

AKA: you will NOT be rich here lol :)

How to get money?

I recommend travling with only about $100 USD in cash just in case and withdrawing cash in the local currency when we land in Indonesia. It is cheaper to withdraw from the ATM than to pay to a teller to exchange US dollars to the local currency.

What will I need to buy?

Both destinations are full of shopping. Have money for any shopping you may want to do and for food and drinks. Only some of our excursions have meals included so please make sure you’re prepared to buy food/drinks. Also, you’ll need cash at many places in Bali and for transportation. Please recall that we only have transportation on our excursion days - on free days transportation is on you.
